Base preparation

It is important that your garden building is erected on an adequate base. It must be level, firm and square. If the base is not level, it could result in your doors twisting and sticking. Buildings erected on un level bases will not be covered by a guarantee and it is the customers responsibility to check that the base is adequate. If a Bearer has been purchased with your building this can only be levelled if the ground is already relatively flat. If the ground is slopping then a Timber Framed Foundation Base is recommended. If in any doubt or if you would like to order a Timber Framed Foundation or Bearer then please call us.

Disclaimer—North Sheds will NOT be held responsible for inadequate base preparation should the customer provide their own. Should the prepared ground not meet requirements set by North Sheds (please ask for details) a Foundation base or Bearer will be offered on assembly. On refusal you will be asked to sign a disclaimer form on site voiding any warranty.

Our FREE erection service is at the time of delivery, if we are unable to erect your building due to a lack of clear access or a level base not being ready, the building will be left, either for self assembly or if you require us to return, a revisit charge of £75-00 will be made (payable in advance).
WE MUST BE MADE AWARE IN ADVANCE OF ANY ACCESS PROBLEMS (e.g. alleyways, doorways, over neighbours fence etc). Your building is made in sections so please ensure that all of these can be carried through to assembly area with ease.
All of your personal property (e.g. garden furniture, planters etc) must be cleared from the area that we are expected to work in. Any hidden garden lighting should be pointed out before we assemble the building. Any foliage must be cleared away to allow access.

Disclaimer—It is the responsibility of the customer to provide clear access and not that of North Sheds, a site survey will have been offered on ordering should the buyer have reported any accessing issues. North Sheds will NOT be held responsible for any damage to property that has been caused due to unclear access.

You will have been given or contacted with a delivery date for you garden building. We will be delivering on this date between the hours of 8-30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Unfortunately we can not give any specific timing of delivery. It is not always necessary for you to be in at the time of delivery. However if you require a specific time we will allow a 2 hour time scale of your choosing this is an additional charge of £50. If we can gain access to your garden and the shed location is obvious we will assemble your building, alternatively you can mark the area with pegs.

Disclaimer—It is the customers responsibility to be present at time of delivery should this be necessary, North Sheds will NOT be held responsible for a customers absence.
In the unfortunate event we are unable to deliver and assemble your building due to unforeseen circumstances ie, weather, vehicle breakdowns ect. North Sheds will inform you of this at earliest we can. Customers are NOT entitled to refunds or discounts under these circumstances

Your building is made of timber, which is a natural product and is prone to knots, cracks, & slight shrinkage or expansion. All these properties are natural and not faults in the garden building.

Your garden building has been treated with Protec Shed Grade preservative, which will protect the building for many years, however the building will “sun bleach” and should be treated every year with a good quality coloured preservative. All hardware (hinges, locks etc) should be oiled at least once a year.
